Ian and Shaun Research project edited.

(A) Is NEWater really safe to drink?1
(B) It focuses on NEWater claimed drinkable water.
(C) If it is drinkable, we can assure people that it is safe to drink. If it is not, we can send our project to the government to stop people from drinking this water.
(D) It would just require us to visit the NEWater plant and interview people on streets going outside only.
(E) It is manageable as we have already planned what we are going to do and its definitely possible.
(F) It is accessible as the NEWater treatment plant allow people to enter and the internet has given us information of many countries who has done something like Newater.
(G) http://www.pub.gov.sg/about/historyfuture/Pages/NEWater.aspx
We chose this website as it tells us about Newater history and where it is being used in which country. That allowed us to use these other countries that it stated as our case study sites.

http://x3pureelement.blogspot.com/2010/05/newaterpros-and-cons.html
We chose this website as this person has written about the pros and cons of Newater and this has helped us by giving us a guideline of what Newater is good for and what it is bad for.

http://www.globalwaterintel.com/archive/5/9/general/the-last-newater-project.html
We chose this website as it clearly showed what Newater has became and how it has became what it is. It also tell us where all this Newater goes that we will futher confirm at the Newater visitor plant.

S106 group (B) (kevin Teng,Mason Sim,Deepika Babu,Charmaine Tan

YOUR PRELIMINARY IDEAS AS A GROUP.
(A) A STATEMENT OF YOUR RESEARCH TITLE
How do the use of the Learning Device affects the way we study?

(B) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FOCUSSED
We are only focusing on a group of people (students in SST) for this research so it is focused.

(C) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT SIGNIFICANT
Since we are in SST, the MacBook (LD) is essential in our everyday lives.
Hypothesis:
Students are more distracted when using the LD.

(D) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT FEASIBLE
The people who we are surveying are students who use LDs for learning.

(E) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT MANAGEABLE
We can use Numbers to consolidate the data into graphs so the results would not be that overwhelming. The survey can be created in Google then posted on individual class blogs with the help of the teachers.

(F) EXPLAIN WHY IS IT ACCESSIBLE
Everyone uses the Internet for different reasons.

(G) STATE AT LEAST 3 SOURCES OF INFORMATION THAT YOU WILL BE DRAWING YOUR RESEARCH UPON (3 web links) AND WHY YOU CHOOSE THEM.
Google Docs, Facebook and Google. Google Docs would be used to create the survey, Facebook to publicise the survey and Google to research for more statistics and information.

(H) STATE YOUR TYPE OF DATA COLLECTION AS IN TIP 5
Using graphs in Numbers.

Aleem and John's research project

a) Main reason behind obesity in SST?

b) We are focusing on the Main reason(or root cause) for obesity?

c) Singapore has a lot of obese people. Hence, this people are very unhealthy. If we can find the main reason behind obesity, we can find a solution to help Singaporeans stay fit and healthy.

d) It is reasonable. This is because there are a lot of obese people in singapore. We can interview them and then find out the common things that they do. Also, we can also interview people who has gone from obese to acceptable weight and see what they did.

e) There is definitely sufficient given the massive number of obese people in Singapore.

f) We will use interviews and observations to do research on our project. We will first interview fat people and people who has gone from fat to thin and see what they think. Next, we will observe the common patterns in how fat people grow fat and then observe the common actions the people take to go from obese weight to acceptable weight.

We shall use this three links because they provide relevant information to our project. This three websites has a large database of information on obesity that will greatly aide us in this research project. Apart from that, these three websites are all very famous in Singapore and usually top the search engine results when the 'obesity', 'teenage', 'Singapore' and 'Asia' are searched.

h) We will use surveys to find the main reason behind obesity in Singapore.

Siddharth And Darren Research Project

(A) What is so interesting in a game that it attracts adults

(B) Our Focus is in the video game industry, on the audience for the games being the Adults. That is why our topic is focussed.

(C) It is because, if the research is fruitful, it will result in generating a lot of revenue for game companies.

(D) Nowadays, more adults are involved in gaming and we could take surveys in shops sells videogames.

(E) It is because, we have experience in taking surveys and we just need to find out what games the adults are buying.

(F) As the century passes, technology becomes more advanced which will cause the gaming industry to increase its goods and we just need to find out the number of adults buying what kind of video games.

(G) www.Ea.com
www.Nintendo.com
www.Activision.com
They are the top 3 game developers of the world as they created the most famous games so far like Super Mario Bros. Need For Speed (NFS) and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
(H) We are going to have survey and we are also going to observe the buyers.

Water Conservation (S106B)

A) How to motivate and encourage people to save water?
B) Water resources are running out soon.
C) More and more people are using more than what they should.
D) This is a serious problem that could potentially be a crisis throughout the world.
E) It is easy to find people who take this as a problem as water crisis is something which everyone is facing.
F) A lot of people are wasting water in Singapore alone.
G) http://www.wikipedia.org/, Newater, Google
H) Surveys and observations.

a) A statement of our research title:
How has photography changed the way we see the world

b) Explain why is it focussed?
We are going to research on how photography has changed the way SST students perceive reality.

c) Explain why is it significant?
We want to find out how has the photographs changed the world, like how have photos changed the perspective of how people see things in reality. In this way, we can find out how different each photo affects how each student sees reality.

d) Explain why is it feasible?
It is feasible for we can ask anyone for their opinions and it is a rather targeted topic.

e) Explain why is it manageable?
There are four people working on this research and therefore we can divide the work equally.

f) Explain why it is accessible?
The resources that we need are easily available - on the internet and the people around us.

g) State at least 3 sources of information that you will be drawing your research upon (3 web links) and why you choose them.
-National Museum Of Singapore
-Students of SST
-Photography websites
These are useful sources where we can get the information we need efficiently.
(H) State your type of data collection.
We can interview people and do some surveys to see how each student respond to each photograph. From this data that we collected, we can find out how has different people gets affected of the way they understand reality.
